DepEd Balanga City Unites for Education Week Celebration

Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No. 207, s.2012, the Division of City of Balanga held a celebration of the Education Week with the theme K to 12 Basic Education Program: “Engaging Stakeholders and Communities.” In line with this the Division conducted a Run for Education and Tree Planting and Caring activity last December 7, 2012 at M.Delos Reyes Memorial  Elementary School where the opening program was held and ended at the Balanga City Wetland Park at Tortugas, Balanga City.

The program started with a solemn and heartfelt prayer led by the Principal I of Puerto Rivas ES, Mrs. Violeta Mena followed by the singing of the national anthem conducted by the Principal II of Tortugas ES, Mrs. Zenaida C. San Pedro. Mrs. Agnes Magdalera, Principal II of M.Delos Reyes ES welcomes everyone with a warm greetings and it is followed by a very energetic roll call was facilitated by the jolly Principal I of MP Cuaderno ES Mrs. Norma Rico wherein each schools danced to the tune of Cha-cha Dabarkad. After these, Dr. Ronaldo A. Pozon, Schools Division Superintendent, gave a surprise to those who danced gracefully and gave them a small yet very meaningful prize before he gave his inspiring message and says that the mere fact that he is on “shorts” is already an inspiration for all of us that clearly shows that he truly participate in the Divisions advocacy because he never wears shorts in front of teachers, just this time.      

The ever supportive City Mayor of Balanga didn’t miss this special day and inspire the participants more with his warm greetings and message of encouragement plus a bonus inspiration to the runners of P6000 prize for the winners of the fun run.

Dr. Robert Osongco, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, also gave a message and an orientation followed by Mr. Armando Capili, Principal II of Tuyo ES and Dr. Romy Bascara, EPS I in EPP/TLE.

Tortugas Elementary School teaching and non-teaching force actively participated in the said activity. In fact, three teachers won in the fun run. They are Mrs. Anna May Macalinao who won 6th place, Mrs. Carla Rivera, 3rd place and Mrs. Connie Andrade, 2nd place.

After the fun run, all the earth lover-participants cooperatively planted bakawan to help care for the environment.
